Wow! It's been a long time since I've updated this blog. My girls are a year older, my husband and I are a year older and a million things have happened in our lives.

'Lil Red turned 11 this past Tuesday, giving me somewhat of an anxiety attack. I can't believe how old she has gotten! I got her an iTouch, which she loves, a really cool sweatshirt, and filled the living room with 25 balloons to surprise her when she got out of bed. I also let her bring one of her friends home from school to play for awhile (and eat CAKE, of course) before we headed off to the movies. Big Red took 'Lil Red and her friend to see "Alice in Wonderland", while Blondie and I saw a much less scary-looking movie (although gross), "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". Blondie has read all of the books (yes, at 6-years-old) and LOVED it. It was pretty cute.

Blondie has been having a fantastic year of 1st grade!!!!! She has transitioned very well and has a ton of friends. She is not as shy around her peers as she once was (YEAH!). She is still extremely smart (as is her sister) and I am so proud of her!

We just finished up basketball season for 'Lil Red. Regular season began in December and then All-Stars lasted up until March 14th (darn, my girl being good at sports...LOL). I am on the Little League Board this year and we have been working since November.....the kids began last week and WOW.....busy times. I thought basketball was busy. Not compared to this. Blondie is still in t-ball, but 'Lil Red is in a higher level that travels and I happen to be an assistant coach. So, we are in it till July, at the very least with the kids and then starts the Board business again. Oh, and I can't forget 4-H....had our first meeting last night. 'Lil Red is taking hogs again this year and Blondie is still in Cloverbuds, much to her dismay.

We have had more than our fair share of health problems with family and friends in the last year. 'Lil Red's beloved teacher passed away at an early age last summer, my aunt found out she has breast cancer, my cousin is expected to pass away at any time from cancer that he has been painfully battling for a year now, and a family friend has also been diagnosed with breast cancer in the last week.

I have to close this out with a "Slacker Story". On Wednesday evening, 'Lil Red had softball practice. Afterwards, she had pitching practice with her main coach. I was standing in the concession stand talking to our other Board Members and suddenly realized I hadn't seen Blondie for a good hour. I TOTALLY & COMPETY FORGOT I HAD BROUGHT HER WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!! Thank God we live in a town where everyone knows everyone and I found her playing with some friends on the top of a dirt pile about 4 fields from me.
See.....S-L-A-C-K-E-R!!!!!
